Lutz Bertling, CEO of EADS NV unit Eurocopter, defended the company's decision to buy German maintenance specialist Motorflug, announced the same day as a plan to outsource some maintenance, repair and overhaul work to Romania.
Speaking during an interview with Les Echos, Bertling hit back at union complaints over the decision, saying the decision to buy Motorflug has nothing to do with the decision to entrust maintenance work on some helicopters to its facilities in Romania, and neither will have an impact on French jobs.
Eurocopter said in May it was buying Motorflug Baden-Baden GmbH, which has sites in Baden-Baden, Rheinmunster and Schonhagen, through its Eurocopter Deutschland GmbH unit.
