It seems not that long ago that the buzzword for first-world companies was ‘outsourcing’. It turns out that was just the beginning. While some cried foul and others rubbed their hands, a much bigger revolution was sliding into corporate culture. Outsourcing has many benefits. What many didn’t do was look further into its possibilities. Getting one’s sport shoes made for a fraction of the usual cost by an Asian sweatshop is peanuts. Apply the concept to the whole company. Why not outsource everything? Nothing has to be kept in-house. Following that train of thought, one could construct a global corporation from scratch, maybe even from a laptop. Maybe while you’re reading this - you can multitask.
