One of the key decisions a company needs to make in offshoring software development is which projects to offshore. You cannot simply offshore “maintenance” projects, because your staff in the U.S. wants to work on new product development. Are you going offshore for cost only, for cost and skills, do you wish to use local expertise to develop or customize products for that part of the world?
